Excalibur BOOST (2-3 month fast release)

Excalibur VI (6 month slow release)

Excalibur IX (9 month slow release)

We’ve had quite a journey with Excalibur. 2019 is it’s 6th year been selling to the public. We make a few small changes along the way, mainly to improve the performance. This year we have decided to make a few rather significant changes to help Excalibur perform better in extreme climates.

Our new Excalibur products now contain Boron are now Excalibur VI 11-11-14 releases nutrients over 6 months and Excalibur IX 11-11-13 releases nutrients over 9 months. Both are available all year.

Excalibur VI and Excalibur IX are almost identical, the only difference is the Potash and thickness of the coatings. We designed Excalibur to allow the release of nutrients to correspond with your Plumeria’s growing requirements and the coatings control much of the release timing.

Average Temperature is a critical factor since the release of nutrients is activated by moisture and temperature. To help you determine which is best for your area, we’ve divided the growing areas into four typical areas.

How we get the desired release rate: The number of coatings is manipulated for the timing of nutrients released as plumeria need them.
Dosage: Application rates, plus combination and percentage of nutrients.
Regional: Accounting for climate and average rainfall

We use the following considerations to help determine which Excalibur is right for you.
1. The amount of water required, how often you need to water.
2. Wind, the more wind you have the more water your plumeria will need.
3. Temperature, the hotter you days and nights are the more water your plumeria will need.

Excalibur is moisture sensitive, as you water your plumeria, Excalibur granules dissolve providing nutrients to your plumeria as needed. If you water more, more nutrients are released because your plumeria will need more nutrients during stressed times. However, we have taken into considerations the needs of Plumeria

Short Growing seasons of 6-7 months – Use Excalibur VI once a year. For the shorter growing seasons typically around 6 months, examples are Northern California and northern areas where your growing season is from May/June to September/October.

Growing seasons of 8-9 months – Use Excalibur IX once a year. South East Texas, Central Texas, Southern California, Louisiana, North Florida, where your growing season is from March/April to October/November.

Growing seasons of 9-11 months – Use Excalibur VI twice a year. South Florida, Coastal areas and areas where you can leave your plants in the ground are good examples.

Some Growing seasons with 9-10 months requires more watering because of heat and wind. Use Excalibur VI twice a year. Phoenix is a good example with many days at or above 100 degrees and a lot of windy days contributing to the need for more water and nutrients.
